The bohemian Gallura village: stone alleys, Thursday craft market, granite rocks that catch the sunset light. 15 minutes from the Porto Cervo Marinas, but in another world.

Perfect for the Village

The Scooter on the Narrow Streets of San Pantaleo

Those who choose San Pantaleo as a summer base usually know what they're after: the authenticity of Gallura without giving up proximity to Costa Smeralda. But there's a practical detail many discover only on arrival: the village isn't designed for cars. The lanes are narrow, sloping, stone-paved; parking on the piazzetta is limited to a few dozen spaces, and on Thursday mornings — the day of the legendary craft market that draws hundreds of visitors from along the coast — finding a car spot by 11:00 is a feat. The Honda SH 125 solves it all: it threads through the alleys without scraping the mirrors, you park 30 metres from Café Nina without paying, and when you want to drop down to Porto Cervo for dinner at Gianni Pedrinelli or Sottovento, you're there in 15 minutes of scenic road through the granite rocks that give Capo Ferro its name. For those travelling as a couple or with children, the Fiat Panda Hybrid is the ideal compromise: narrow enough for the village streets, comfortable for full-day excursions to Cala Liscia Ruja or the La Maddalena archipelago. For the adventurous, the Yamaha Raptor 700 quad opens the Gallura hinterland: dirt tracks, ancient nuraghi, panoramas cars never see. We deliver directly to your agriturismo or rental house in San Pantaleo.

San Pantaleo isn't made for big cars. The Honda SH scooter is the right tool: it threads through the village alleys without scratches, parks 30 metres from the Piazzetta even on market Thursday, and in 15 minutes takes you to Porto Cervo for dinner. The Fiat Panda is the compromise for those travelling as a couple or family, staying at an agriturismo outside the centre, or wanting flexibility for full-day excursions (Spiaggia del Principe, La Maddalena).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to the Thursday market without parking issues?

By Honda SH scooter! On Thursday morning it's impossible to find a car spot. The scooter parks just steps from the square.

Can I reach Porto Cervo from San Pantaleo by scooter?

Of course! Porto Cervo is just 15 minutes along a spectacular scenic road through the Gallura granite rocks.

Do you deliver the scooter directly to San Pantaleo?

Yes, VIP delivery to your accommodation in San Pantaleo. Contact us on WhatsApp to organise.

Is the quad suitable for the San Pantaleo hinterland?

Absolutely. The Gallura hinterland is full of dirt tracks perfect for the Yamaha Raptor 700. B licence required.

Is a Panda or scooter better for those staying at an agriturismo outside the centre?

It depends on the access road. If the agriturismo is uphill on dirt or in the Capannoni-Capo Ferro area, the Panda is more practical: luggage, shopping, rainy days (yes, they happen even in summer) are easier to handle. If you're 5 minutes from the centre on a paved road, the scooter gives you more freedom and zero parking stress in the piazzetta. For stays over a week we evaluate combo formulas at a discount.

Can you drive in San Pantaleo after evening aperitifs in the piazzetta?

Not advised, as anywhere in Italy: the alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, with frequent checks especially on summer weekends. Practical solution: Agriturismo Li Paràuli is 5 minutes away, many B&Bs are inside the village, and for Porto Cervo it's better to take a taxi (single Olbia-Costa Smeralda number) or return early.

San Pantaleo is the perfect base for those who want the best of both worlds: the day among the exclusive coves of Porto Cervo (15 minutes of scenic curves) and the evening in the village, where the noise of fashionable venues doesn't reach. In 25 minutes you also drop down to Porto Rotondo and in 35 you reach the pines of San Teodoro. On Thursday morning, however, dedicate it to the market: take the scooter, set off early, wander among the stalls of textiles, ceramics and culurgiones, and stop for lunch at Giagoni. It's the experience you'll tell about when you return home.
